I can use my laptop privately at work. However, the Wi-Fi router (Telekom standard device) is about 15-20m away as the crow flies and has to go through 2-3 walls. My Wi-Fi is pretty bad or not usable at all. What can I do on my laptop to have better reception? (Since it is not my apartment, I can't make any changes that affect the operational facilities)
Unfortunately, there's not much you can do on your laptop. The problem would persist even if the network card were changed.
Perhaps use a Wi-Fi stick with a rod antenna
Actually lay a LAN cable, but there are Wi-Fi amplifiers that you may have to distribute in the house, but these usually need a LAN connection

I also see that as the only possibility. This leaves the attenuation of the 2-3 walls, but you can find the best reception point. This is mostly above the devices and people circulating.
