Studying with I Pad Pro?

I will soon start my business studies. Now the question arises whether I should buy a laptop or an iPad. In both cases, I would connect the devices to a larger screen at home.
On the I Pad I would use the usual programs like Word, Excel, etc. As on the laptop.
What is more skillful for studying?

So I would buy a laptop first… If the money is enough, an iPad if you need it… Personally, I only use a laptop and I'm very satisfied

La

More like a laptop. Ipad is well. But then a laptop with a touch or something.

Gu

I would also use the Macbook instead of the iPad.

He

I would ignore the answers given here because I study business administration myself and made the mistake myself. I bought a laptop first, then realized it was almost useless, then switched to the Ipad. A very good decision!

I wouldn't buy a Pro because it is really expensive, but definitely an Ipad. If you don't have a PC at home, a laptop is of course also a good option. Depending on what kind of learner you are, a laptop can of course also be worthwhile.

I don't believe in a laptop with a touchpad function, you can't compare anything to the Ipad, this thing has been made and optimized so that it can be used properly. BTW as a student there's a 10% discount at Apple.

He

A Macbook for studying business administration is probably the worst investment on earth.

Gu

That's right, but if you already have one, why not use it?
I don't know if he has an MB of course.

Vi

Thank you for your answer! Which programs do you mainly use on the iPad?

Bo

If it really is only Office, an iPad Pro is sufficient, with Split Screen you can also open the lecture and take notes on the side. The devices now also support USB sticks and have a file manager.

If your budget is sufficient, a Surface Pro with pen & cover would also be a good option, but it is steep even in the student program.

Vi

Thank you for your answer! How much storage space should I plan for an iPad Pro?

He

I currently only use Onenote, which is free from Microsoft.

If you want to spend money I would recommend good notes.

Otherwise I can recommend you to buy a matt film & a pen is a must. Otherwise, make a rubber coating or something similar on the Apple Pencil then it's like a bullet.

Bo

Even the 128GB version should be enough, you don't need any larger apps and PowerPoints for your studies or even extensive Excel sheets do not require massive memory.

He

I have 32 GB and that's enough for me.

Vi

Thank you!

Vi

Can I then easily create the PowerPoints on the I Pad and save them on a USB stick and then open them on a Windows laptop without moving anything or the like?

Vi

I actually have an MB, but it's a bit older. For my studies, however, I wanted a device with touch with which I can use the same or similar functions.

Bo

Yes, as far as I know you now need a license for Office365 on the iPad anyway, OneDrive is also included (1GB or 5GB), so you can simply save your Office data in the MS Cloud and access it from your PC.

Of course, offline is also possible, a FAT32 stick is recognized by both systems. The file format of the Office Suite is the same for every system.

He

With pleasure!
