Windows 10 stuck on reset?

I'm trying to reset my old laptop, but the prep has been hanging at 1 percent for over an hour. (see link). What can I do?

Waiting. Don't switch off. This can take up to several days. Especially with old devices with ner hdd

It can also be that it jumps to 70% from now on.

Update: jumped from 1 to 15 and continues to climb.
