How to connect second monitor?

I have two new monitors and have connected the first one with HDMI and now want to either connect the second one to the laptop with Displayport to Mini Displayport or with an HMDI doubler. I would definitely need 144 Hz on one and at least 60 Hz on the other.

What makes more sense?
