Which laptop brand do you like?

I own an HP myself, but would buy a MacBook next.

Dell is missing here somehow, I think Microsoft Surface and Dell are the best, of course it depends on what you want to do with the device.

Got one from XMG, I'm happy with it, and I like the separate cooling system for CPU and GPU.

Uff DELL

I'm going back to 2010/2011. Back then, in my opinion, the best laptop brand was VAIO! You can absolutely no longer compare that with the laptop brands you mentioned.

At that time, the VAIO company produced really good laptops with which you could even gamble relatively well. The laptops already had 8GB RAM back then, then a CPU with at least 2.60 GHz and a quality graphics chip that already had 2GB graphics memory.

Today, of course, you can't do as much with these laptops as you did back then, but for the conditions at the time, the VAIO laptops were simply number 1 in terms of price-performance ratio.

Of course, you couldn't play games that needed a high-end PC back then. But such middle class games for sure. Good example: The Farming Simulator 2011, which I was able to play on Ultra with my VAIO laptop at the time, ran stably at 60 fps.

And a normal VAIO laptop cost a maximum of 250 euro. Those were great times because some companies still wanted people to get at least something decent for their money.

If you look at some laptops today for 600 euro or even more that are still totally weak, you can see what has happened over the past 10 years.

That's why VAIO is and remains the best laptop brand for me from that time, which I always had fun with until the end of 2015.

Well, the RAM of my Dell recently broke for the second time and I've been trying to get an xps 13 to work for over half a year.

The business models with sensible hinges that allow the lid to open a gigantic 180 °, just like it used to be standard everywhere instead of just 100 ° like today

it's timeless & not that popular with thieves

the 1st or 2nd generation of Microsoft Surface was total rubbish: everything glued + soldered, sometimes even worse than Apple & even without what Apple makes hip (= only the negative of Apple) …

At Dell the business things are OK (especially the old ones from vbor 20 years were very ingenious, everything could be changed very quickly (hard drive, CD, CPU cooler, RAM, …) … Otherwise Alienware (= Dell)

What, "of course not start so much"?

They are still usable for work, you just have to clean the CPU cooler thoroughly & replace thermal paste if necessary… If you do it in time before the heat death occurs

Who cares about the products that are available now, those from 10-20 years ago are of course much more interesting. What good is it if the current product is good, if the predecessor of the predecessor of the predecessor of the predecessor of the predecessor of the predecessor had problems? It is also much more important how Dell's laptops were from 20 years ago, which are of course much more interesting today than the current models. Absolutely obvious.

The Surface Pro is a tablet, and the design options for tablets are very limited, so you can hardly avoid gluing. The Surface Laptop is now screwed.

With the touch and pen input, the Surface Pro has features that the MacBook Pro doesn't have to this day, and with running x86 software it has a feature that the iPad Pro doesn't have. The Surface Laptop is one of the best Windows laptops out there. Of course, it always depends on what you need.

Laptops are getting thinner and lighter, so, as I said, it is difficult to guarantee good maintainability at the same time, only a few laptops are simultaneously super thin and light and at the same time easy to maintain. At Dells Thin & Lights, it will no longer look like it did 20 years ago. It's just hard to combine and you have to know yourself what you need and what you want.

I quote Wikipedia:

The Vaio Corporation emerged from the former

In 2010 you never had a VAIO notebook, but a VAIO series notebook from SONY.

Keep your hands off Apple, these things still get very hot inside = greatly shortened lifespan & thanks to "thermal throttling" on Gruind undersized cooling (laudable exception: the current Mac-Pro)

HP consumer hardware used to be very bad when it came to heat (around 15 years ago)

Then I'll probably have to find out for myself, in any case my next device will be a MacBook.

Makes zero sense…

Better trust Louis Rossmann knows what he's talking about, he cleans up Apple every day afterwards (= repairs this electronics) & knows all the problems.
