Aldi Talk XL package - insert the SIM card into the laptop?

I would like to use the Internet XL package 10 GB from Aldi Talk on my laptop, so I don't want to buy this mini router. Is that possible if I simply insert the SIM from the starter set into my laptop, activate it and then book the XL package?
