HP laptop won't charge - what's up?

About a week ago I got her old HP Pavilion G7 (so 2013) from my aunt to repair it.

It does not seem to charge, is loud, slow, crashes and it takes 5 minutes for it to display something after pressing the power button.

Well, changing thermal paste, installing SSD and cleaning it up helped.

Today the replacement battery finally arrived.

The old one was 4300 mAH (or how to write it) while the new one was 4400 mAH.

The same problem occurs as with the old one: it doesn't load.

With the new battery, it works perfectly and does not take 5 minutes.

When I connect it to power, the LED turns red and immediately white again.

When I boot up, Windows 8.1 tells me that the battery is not charging and the laptop is running from the mains.

What could it be?

VRMs, transformers, could be many things. Would times check the contacts of the battery slot and the charging socket.
