Connect a laptop to a video projector?

Eg
- in HP
4

The projector is a Benq MP 721, the laptop is a HP with Windows 10, I make a presentation tomorrow and so far this has always worked with both devices.

Something I'm probably wrong, because the projector does not recognize the laptop. I have at source D-sub / comp and other selections. Everything is ok on the PC.

Is it really important to turn up the devices in the correct order, as I read on some websites? Have done what is advised, first Beamer, then PC. Nothing happens. I do not get that far, that something does, the history with the function key, where I have to switch to the second screen (ie beamer), I know synonymous. But even if I first turn up the PC and then the projector comes nothing. Can it be because that the VGA connection (I glaibe, these are these old large connections, which left and right so small Schraubschlüsse have) on the Beamer no nut has (on a side)? But the connection is still stuck.

can help me who URGENT, the presentation tomorrow is really important and I do not remember what to do.

The source depends on the cable. With whom you connect him. If your laptop has only one HDMI output, try a different cable, since sometimes projector spiders. If he still offers a VGA connection, try to connect him via this to the projector. Mostly it's up to the cable, beamer are there something own.

Eg

The laptop has an HDMI port, which is connected to the BEamer via an adapter with the VGA cable. Nothing happens. I do not have another cable, and last time it worked

Eg

Does it really matter which of the two devices I turn on first? That does not really matter, does it?

Try really "sounds stupid" everything in peace off and turn on (Laptop & Beamer) put the adapter off and puff into it in both slots, which are often vulnerable. Then plug in everything again and start the laptop first. Then the projector. Also look at your laptop under "Settings -> Display" to see if the projector is recognized there.
