Which laptop for design?

Have a good evening 😊

Looking for a laptop with a touchscreen for drawings and small graphics (logo & print design), I'm a little confused about the technical data 🤭

I really only need it for in between / on the go. I have a real computer at home for everything else.

8GB or 16GB RAM?

How big should the SSD card be or what would be enough? 256GB, 512GB or 1TB?

Screen size 14 inches seems a bit small to me, I would prefer a 15.6 inch.

Which processor should my laptop have? Pentium Gold 5405u, Intel i3 or i5?

Budget 500-700 euro

So far my selection has been this

HP Pavilion x360 15-dq1433ng 9HB78EA i3-10110U 8GB / 1TB 256GB 15 "FHD W10 (cyberport.de)
What is the difference between the SSD and HDD storage? I'm a little confused

If you have experience with it or know better like to recommend.

Thank you all in advance and stay healthy 🙏🥰

I'll get something out of it.

First of all about the hard disk: A basic distinction is made between SSD and HDD. An HDD is a normal magnetic hard disk with corresponding moving parts, which makes it relatively slow. That's why it's cheap. An SSD is a hard drive based on memory chips. This is significantly faster (which has a positive effect on the start of Windows and the execution of programs), but also more expensive. That is why your model has installed two hard disks: an SSD for the operating system and the most important programs so that they start quickly, and an HDD for data, rarely used programs, documents etc. The SSD with 256 GB is enough m.n. Out. You still have the 1 TB disk.

About RAM (RAM):

A drawing computer should have at least 8 GB. Of course, more is always better so that you have reserves for the future, but 8 GB should be enough.

About the processor (CPU):

You should avoid Pentium Gold. But you should also keep in mind that, depending on the resolution you draw on, it still demands a lot from the computer and thus has a negative effect on the battery life. The i3 should actually pack that (I think, depending on the program) as long as you don't have 30,000 levels. If you would like to have a precise recommendation, please write in the program you are using. With an i5er, of course, you have reserves.

Screen size:

Google the measurements and cut a sheet of paper to size. Then you will see if it is enough for you.

For input:

Cyberport does not include a pen, but you should use it urgently. There's a compatible pin https://store.hp.com/...UF&sel=ACC here

Hope could help you if you have any questions, just ask.

Thank you for the answer ✌❤

I'm just a woman have no idea of unfortunately.

My graphics program is MAGIX Photo & Graphic Designer 11. Thanks again.

So do you think an 8GB RAM with i3 processor and 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD would be enough?

Or would you prefer to play it safe using 16GB RAM with i5 processor and 512GB SSD?

Because there's at least 200 euro difference between the two versions.

For a long time, gender has nothing to do with technical talent.
If you want to invest and want to have fun with it in the long term, invest the 200 euro more. The i3 would pack it, but would also work on the limit every now and then, depending on what you (exactly) want to do. If you are short of cash, the i3 is enough. Afterwards I'll look for a model and send it in. I'm just on the phone.

Dat was not wanted, should actually be a pick

Next edit, just see that this is more an image editing program than a drawing program. The i3 should be enough to edit the image.

Thank you jetzt 😊 I now have these 3 variants of HP Pavilion x360

Intel i3 processor ▪︎ 8GB RAM ▪︎ 1TB HDD ▪︎ 256 SSD (659, - €)

‐--‐--------------------

Intel i5 processor ▪︎ 8GB RAM ▪︎ 1TB HDD ▪︎ 256 SSD (749, - €)

-----------------------

Intel i5 processor ▪︎ 16GB RAM ▪︎ 512GB SSD (849, - €)

I would take the second variant (i5, 8GB RAM). The RAM can be increased if you need more later. This is not so easy with the model, should you have two left hands, you can ask a buddy or something. The 1TB + 256 GB config. In my opinion, the 512 GB config makes more sense. More storage at a lower price.
