I would like to apply for a training as a specialist in application development. And I would like to acquire some prior knowledge, I have to get a cheaper laptop / notebook (Since I want to learn mobile) now I have found one of the (apparently) for Java, etc. SHOULD LETS and wanted to ask if he could do something like this:

Here is the name of him: HP 250 G4 with an I5 processor (which I just do not know) who has time hatz could googling for him thank you.

Practically any laptop is suitable for programming, unless you want to program a chess program or something, where it depends on the computing power.

Ye

Programming is not about computing power, not even a chess program. You have to get a text editor and if in doubt a compiler to work, that can also a computer older than 15 years.

we

Yes, that's not what I meant.

I meant that if a program should do a job quickly, then you need more computing power.

Ye

But it's about programming, not about running. How much power the program you write after pulls, does not matter for the programming.

we

Ok, so you're right.

Ph

The common claim that programming does not need much power is simply wrong.

This may apply to a compiler and simple text editor, but nowadays IDEs are used, and especially Java IDEs are quite power-hungry (not because they are bad, but because they can do so much). You can technically work on bad processors, but there you have to adjust to annoying waiting times.

Ultimately there's no perfect solution, you have to decide:

With a low power CPU (with this device the case) one has waiting times
In a high-power CPU, the battery life is correspondingly poor
If you use a thinclient solution (IDE runs on a server and the device only shows the interface) you will need a good internet connection permanently

If possible I recommend you to refrain from laptops, to work with it has even more annoying disadvantages:

The workspace is way too small (you need more than just the IDE and even that is borderline on 15 "or 17")
The keyboard is not so good even with high quality models
The posture of laptops is very unhealthy
The lighting conditions are usually not so good, which bothers
If you do not happen to find a very quiet place you will be distracted and full concentration is very important in programming

If it's really just for starters, the part should be enough. A slim IDE like BlueJ will do the part easily
