I recently got a special interest in programming. That's why I started to create html / css "websites" on my laptop and can actually say that I did quite well.
However, it got boring in the long run, which is why I got a lot of interest in programming games. The problem with this is that my current laptop is quite old, takes a long time to boot up and is just not good for programming games. So I started looking for suitable "laptops for programming", but unfortunately I don't know what is important for such a laptop right now. In addition, I'm only 16 years old and therefore have a rather small budget.
So my real question is:
What exactly does a laptop need in order to be able to program decent games with it (processor, RAM, etc.) and are there such games for less than 500 euro in the best case less than 400 euro?
My answer will probably not answer your question directly, but maybe it will help you anyway.
I would suggest that you first learn the basics of the language you want to learn. You will most likely not need better hardware for this. Until you have reached a stage in which you can realize larger projects, you know from my experience
1. In which direction your games and thus your hardware should go
and
2. By then you have been able to save more budget than you currently have available.
I used to have an old, pretty slow PC when I started programming, but as long as you can overlook the long boot-up time and possibly the older version of Windows, old boxes also deliver more performance than you might initially think.
So personally I would just wait a little longer and demand everything from your current laptop again, so you can then also get better durable hardware.
As mentioned above, this doesn't really answer your question, but you might be able to do a little with your old laptop.
PS. Now I'm writing a laptop recommendation.
I bought a Trekstor Surfbook for quite a similar reason a while ago (all Surfbook laptops are built relatively similarly). You can definitely work with that and even playing works better than I expected. But really complex programming projects are not going too well because of the missing graphics card.
I think under 500 euro you won't find anything that is groundbreakingly better than my laptop (which cost 300 euro). I think the 200 euro are not enough.
BUT I don't know how far you want to develop games, so the whole thing is just a rough assessment.
