I hope someone can help me. I bought an HP laptop last year in May. Warranty 1 year, additional Euronix warranty 5 years. In January, the laptop suddenly turned black when switched on. But one hears that it goes on. Connecting the monitor doesn't help either.
Euronix sent in the laptop, the mainboard was replaced, it ran again for 1 week. Then black again.
Then Euronix sent it in a second time. Drivers have been updated to run again for a few days. Then black again.
Sent in a third time: Euronix said that the third time there should probably be a replacement device. After a few weeks the device came back, it was running again. HP says: Device works, errors not traceable, diagnosis on goodwill, next diagnosis costs (with several exclamation marks).
Euronix said it was up to me to prove the damage. Although 2 sellers can see and test in the store that the device is obviously broken, they say I need an appraiser at my own expense.
I don't actually expect that from a guarantee! Does anyone know any advice?
You ended up in a predicament. It would be a shame if you can't insist on your guarantee. If I were you, I would have the laptop reimbursed, and in the future I would forego products from this brand. Otherwise, legal advice might be appropriate.
Where would we get if everyone had to prove it!
Make a video while you boot up the laptop, with the date of a newspaper, etc.
Few people know that a purchased item can be repaired at most twice (during the warranty period) before the buyer is entitled to a refund or new item. Should the seller tell you otherwise, you are welcome to refer him to consumer law and mention your lawyer. In extreme cases, you can even file a claim for damages, for example if you need it for work.
