Laptop hangs / falters constantly, possibly high CPU?

Hi, first to my laptop is only 1 year old: Asus F756U, i7 (7th Gen) 3.5GHz, 256Gb SSD + 1TB HDD, Geforce 940MX
(https://www.notebooksbilliger.de/asus+vivobook+max+f756uq+t4147t+470831)

My problem is this: I produce music (FL Studio) and especially it happens constantly that my PC completely falters and the sound / sound "scrapes" terribly. This is always the case in more or less regular intervals, ie every 2 minutes for 30-40 seconds. During this time I also see in FL Studio that the CPU is overloaded. However, not only is it the music producing way, but it happens more and more during normal use of the PC, even during normal surfing on the internet, without the PC being overburdened by overly many programs or so. In the Task Manager, the percentage of my volume 1 jumps during the performance lag (C. From 0% / 1% to sometimes 50%.

Maybe somebody knows a little better about computers than me (which is not too hard) and can give me some tips.

It's no wonder with such a Cpu! When I was in vocational school I also had lapttops with a 7700hq and they were really often at 100% utilization

What?

There can be several reasons:

The CPU is not made for that and badly cooled.
The RAM is too slow or too overloaded.
Laptop bought at notebooksbilliger.

In your case, all 3 reasons will certainly hit your PC is already old and not made for such work.

The answers are all nonsense…

I produce myself on an 8 year old notebook with i5 2410M. Not with FL Studio, but that does not matter in principle.

So in itself it is true that a DAW can cause a very high CPU load, especially when many midi tracks are running at the same time.

Then that should definitely not be the case in normal operation. Download HWMonitor and check the temperature of the CPU.

Then: Do you use an antivirus program? If so, uninstall, the Windows Defender is enough anyway.

Are all drivers up to date?

You can probably read the error in the Windows Event Viewer. Whether he is known and there's a fix is the other question…

Thanks for the answer! I finally found the mistake where I never suspected it. My drive C is no longer in the automatic default defragmenter program in it, ie. It was not defragmented anymore. I have an external program and let's see, the computer is running again

Do you (or otherwise) happen to have a plan on how to defragment this automatically?

Th

That pleases me! So definitely uninstall the external program. External programs that offer the same functions as Windows, such as virus programs and Co damage anyway more than they are useful.

To re-enable automatic defragmentation, right-click on the drive (C.> Properties> Tools> under "Defragment"> Optimize Settings> Settings should be set.) Once a week is enough.

Ca

I tried that, can't change the settings, so I suspect that my drive was never there. The drive D is in it and just like you say on a weekly basis.

Th

This is really strange, no idea if there's a solution to it. The old program is uninstalled? Can you also test another program, for example, this one, if it can't stand without defragmentation:
