Zoom conference: screen flickers / goes black - what can I do?

Because of Corona, my studies are taking place online. A year ago, as well as from now on, a professor uses Zoom for his lectures. And both then and now it happens that in the middle of the Zoom conference, usually when a screen is shared, my screen starts to flicker and at some point even goes black, audio can still be heard. At first the whole thing stops for a short time when I move my mouse, but sometimes it gets worse and worse over time that I had to do a forced shutdown a few times because nothing worked (no task manager either). A year ago I thought my laptop was simply defective or had a virus, so I set it up again in the fall and everything went great… Until I had to install and use Zoom again this week.

The error is extremely annoying and I can't really attend the lectures.

What could help

I bought an HP laptop, September 2018, relaunched October 2020, Windows 10, with processor and graphics card from Intel.

You could try rebooting the laptop and installing any of the latest drivers that HP has available.

Also like to install a BIOS update. (If you have activated Bitlocker you have to stop the protection for C: before installing the bios)

If that doesn't help, I suspect there's a hardware defect, probably from the Intel onboard graphics card…
