I would like to play Sims 2 on my HP EliteBook 840 G1, with an external drive. Fortunately, I was able to install the game, but the graphics are pretty bad and pixelated. I have already checked whether the driver can be updated and it should be up-to-date. As far as I know, Sims2 requires 'Geforce 2, ATI Radeon 7000' or better. My graphics card is Intel (R) HD Graphics 5500. I would have downloaded an update from HP too. However, it hasn't gotten any better. The graphics card should actually be enough? Or is there some way to enable that without causing any problems with the laptop?
This IGPU isn't really good enough. Even an ancient GTX 260 is twice as fast as that… You can't do anything with that, so Sims can't really do it either. If you compromise on resolution and graphics settings accordingly, you could just about get playable frame rates.
Alright thanks! Do you think the laptop could do Sims 1? Or not even that? 🙈
He will create Sims 2 too… Only with compromises. Sims 1 is really not very demanding now… Might work
OK thanks! Yes Sims 2 runs but the graphics are very bad, so that's no fun anymore 😅 I'll try it 👍🏻
