I have an HP Elitebook 840 G5.
I'm trying to get GTA5 running on me. Sometimes it works and it runs on high settings. The next day it doesn't work anymore.
Data from the laptop:
Internal graphics solution intel uhd620
external graphics card Radeon RX 540
8GB CPU ram
I suspect that the laptop does not switch correctly between the two "graphics cards" and the Radeon is only activated sometimes. Is there a program with which I can permanently control the Radeon directly?
Well, it could also be due to the temperature of your laptop.
Computers slow down when they get too hot in order to avoid overheating (otherwise your processor & Co) would burn away. If they can no longer cool, they switch off. Or, of course, it can really be because the right graphics card is not being used, with the Radeon software you should actually be able to set everything and select the appropriate graphics card in GTA, I think (if I remember it correctly).
Isn't it possible to assign games to a specific graphics chip in the GraKa control program?
At least that's possible with NVIDIA.
I haven't found anything so far. On Google I only find tips about Nvidia
Temperature is not. The pc is cool. And the fan is extremely quiet. The funny thing is that I made it 3 times after a few hours trying to get it working. He was usually nice and warm then. Then it went 😅
I can't find anything in the software. Unless I have the wrong software:?
amd Radeon software
I think that from AMD is called adrenaline or something but yes, just the equivalent of shadow play. Ideally, a list should be there where GTA V is there and you can probably change the desired GraKa for properties. I don't know how exactly that works, but I guess it should go that way. I'll take a look at my laptop to see exactly how it was, I'm at the desktop right now.
Hm, then take a look through your control program for the GraKa, there's bound to be an option for somewhere. I don't know my way around ATI / AMD GraKas.
Cool, I just found the adrenaline software. Will test it
Thanks anyway
Didn't find anything on me, but the article says how to do it: https://support.ubisoft.com/en-us/Article/000062995
So the program is on. Setting the graphics card is not possible there. Could now only be due to the configuration of the other parameters in the program
The link actually describes it. Look here for a graphical and better representation, should actually go:

AMD is also there, after NVIDIA. Just scroll down and have a look.
Unfortunately, the current program looks completely different and no longer has the setting options like what you see in your link 😅
but have now changed all options again and again. Now it's working again. Let's see if it starts all over again tomorrow 😂
Think you should set something like a game profile from energy saving to gaming. I don't think that this attitude no longer exists. I'm sure it's hidden somewhere.
