I'm 13 years old and was recently at Fielmann, you could only perform a very inaccurate test with me but it came out (left) -0.25dpt and (right) -0.50dpt. I often have a headache (mostly while reading when I'm at a PC / laptop / cell phone and at school), sometimes I do not see things on the blackboard or blurry letters when reading. Signs such as on the highway, I can also detect very late
That annoys me a lot and actually I would not have a problem with glasses. My eyes must also be very hard to read or generally in everyday life and if I do not do this I see totally blurry (but not blurred but really completely blurry). Is glasses necessary or not at these values?
These are not high values, you can be happy. I have a dpt of 5 and 3. You only need the glasses when driving (later), reading or in class. You will not need them in everyday life. It will improve your look and in the situations it matters, it will be helpful, otherwise the glasses will probably stay in the box.
As you describe it, glasses would be appropriate.
-0.25 is the lowest diopter value, less is window glass. Although low levels have been found in the test; a pair of glasses would at least benefit you in unfavorable lighting conditions.
You should make a proper eye test at the ophthalmologist and tell him about your difficulties. You'll probably get a prescription, pick out some glasses and then I wish you that your problem is resolved.
If you have to make an effort to read, that does not fit with those values, and also that sometimes you can't recognize what is good does not mean that you are really shortsighted.
What these automatic vision tests, it is not usable anyway, because they give only an inaccurate clue. These tiny 0.25 or 0.50 dioptres can already come as a deviation and not be there at the correct eye test.
As I said, your description does not fit with myopia, maybe it is a very different cause, fluctuations in blood pressure, e.g. Or something else.
