Is the performance of the connected computer being used when playing Virtual Desktop or SteamVR on the Oculus Quest / Quest 2?

I want to buy VR glasses, but I don't have a powerful computer. So I soon came across the Oculus Quest / Quest 2 standalone VR glasses. But since I don't want to do without SteamVR games, I would then connect these glasses to my laptop. Now my question is whether the SteamVR will only use the computer's GPU or that of the glasses as well. My purchase would depend on the answers. But if you know even better standalone VR glasses that are also not too expensive, then you could write your recommendation for other glasses.

I look forward to your answers!

As soon as you connect standalone glasses like the Quest 2, the full power is used by the computer and not by the glasses.

Many thanks for your response! And it's a shame that the glasses don't take on any processes!

You absolutely have to classify it correctly: The performance of an Oculus Quest is absolutely not comparable to that of a PC. In the end, it has a smartphone in the front, not a magical super GPU. Accordingly, it doesn't have enough power to play Steam titles, for example.

Yes, that's a shame, but it would also be difficult to implement.
