Windows shows 'Start' instead of my desktop?

I briefly borrowed my laptop from my mother and now when I log in there I don't see my desktop with my apps but the start! In addition, if I click on the Windows icon on the left, right then go to the desktop and I press the mouse on my desktop, the start will appear again! Here some examples:
