I just got a phishing email from ebay and unfortunately didn't recognize it in time. As soon as I clicked on the attachment, I noticed it and canceled the action immediately, it was only "download error", i.e. The file was probably not completely downloaded. I wasn't on one of their websites. Now the question is whether that is enough for one damage? I changed all the important passwords straight away (on my laptop, I had the email open on my smartphone) and downloaded an antivirus to my cell phone that did not detect any threats. Still, I feel a little queasy now. When I go to banking, I only log in with my fingerprint, so I don't know whether you would actually have enough data on my cell phone to log in there?
I know I should have thought a moment longer, but comments that it was rash do not help me. I would be very grateful if someone who knows their stuff could tell me something!
Nothing will happen
They have at most your ip more but also not.
What exactly have you touched now: a link in the mail or an attachment to the mail? And what kind of cell phone do you have exactly?
And the ebay mail address, otherwise nothing would have been sent to him. Then he has to expect further phishing emails.
I'm still cautious. There are phishing mails, so simply opening the mail is enough
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9. I typed on an attachment, but I came straight back and it only came up with "download error". I also guessed something else, but nothing opened up.
