1000 GB HDD gone?

The 1000 GB HDD from my laptop has disappeared. It should actually have 512 GB SSD (still available) and 1000 GB HDD, but these are simply gone! I've searched everything but I can't find anything.

Are they recognized in disk management?

Un

No.

Is the plate installed?

Un

Yes, internally.

First of all: don't panic! The hard disk is still physically present and most likely the data on it is too.

I have read that it is not recognized in the disk management either.

The following question remains: have you ever called the BIOS from the laptop? Is it displayed there or can you set there that an HDD is available?

If Windoof does not display the HDD, this is an indication that the system (BIOS) has not registered it. Then there are 2 options left:

1) Slot from the HDD grimace (you could swap the plates at the slots, let's see what happens) - I assume that there are no cables in the laptop (I only have a PC with SATA cables), but fixed slots are available.

2) BIOS battery flat. If the battery is low, settings are lost. Please check that…

OK thanks.

Then it is not recognized for some reason, but has it ever worked?

If it is not recognized in the administration:

The following problems can exist if the internal hard drive is not recognized anywhere:

The hard drive is defective.

The hard drive gets no power. If the hard drive doesn't start at all, you should try connecting another power cable to it. Definitely only does this with a computer that was previously switched off and disconnected from the power supply.

The hard drive data cable is defective or loose. If the disk is running but is not recognized, you should check the data cable for its fit. If it should not run despite the plug being properly seated, try another cable.

The interface on the hard disk is damaged. If the cable is OK and the hard drive makes running noises and vibrates slightly, there may be damage to the hard drive's connector. If you still have unused connections, try the cable there. You may also be able to temporarily remove another plate - apart from the boot drive - and plug the cable in there to ensure that the plate and cable are OK.
