I bought a notebook today, set everything up correctly, made all the necessary Windows updates etc.
Then I wanted to start downloading my programs and found that it took ages. I have a 200 line and download normally with about 25 mb / s. With the notebook I sometimes don't even get to 2 mb / s.
What can that be? Everything works fine on my PC. I connected the notebook to LAN sometimes, but unfortunately it doesn't change anything.
Tried again later?
Restart router?
Restart laptop?
Perhaps the connection strength of your laptop is simply shoddy. Maybe it's your internet browser
Take the plug of your WLAN box out for a few seconds and put it back in.
How does the signal strength say?
How do you test the connection speed? What kind of notebook is it exactly?
It would be important to know:
Cable or Wi-Fi? If Wi-Fi:
Frequency band (or the exact frequency)
SNR
transmission standard
modulation
The connection strength is full, sit qausi next to the router. That is what surprises me.
I have also restarted the router. And as I said, use my PC in parallel and everything works fine.
In the speed test it also shows me my 200 mbits, but when I download something it loads much too slowly, as I said. And when I test on the PC in parallel, everything goes well.
Funny. Have you ever clicked on the signal logo with the right touchpad button and carried out troubleshooting?
What are you downloading about? Browser? Cloud? File Sharing?
Floppy disk
So the same browser (logically, of course, the same I-Net page)? I think you have Windows 10, check the updates to see what is set there. I think there's a point somewhere where the laptop can also be set as a "distributor", which tends to draw extreme bandwidth.
Modulation? Probably SSB USB… It hangs on the cable!
If you have newly set up I would give him a few restarts that often come with subsequent updates that he deals with. Here you can also look at the settings to see if there's still something in the queue. What can also be found here are firewalls & Co. In the task manager you can also check all running processes and the network load.
If the problem with Wi-Fi and LAN is the same and the network is running on another device, it will not be the hardware either.
Almost 😅> 2-5 only applies to Wi-Fi. I actually overlooked the cable (exam phase)
Perhaps the problem is also with the router's cable. @ MusicFreak11 what transmission technology do you have on the part of the provider? Has anything changed there recently? Does your provider report malfunctions in your region?
Normal games via browser / launcher
Already tried
Oh damn. Browser or launcher? These are two different pairs of shoes. Have you tried another browser? Firewall and / or antivirus program deactivated? I suspect that some port is blocked. And would you please send me your notebook model?
