Anti virus program pc how safe?

Hello and I bought a new laptop a few days ago and of course I bought an anti virus program and installed or paid for one year.

use the pc to watch series, unfortunately not every series / anime that I like is on Netflix. Burning series and other site apparently cause constant viruses, I watched 2 episodes of a series about burning series and I got a message 4-5 times about successfully blocked access to a page blah blah.

Can I rely on this program? To the preachers of morality, I will continue to use it anyway, please save me the talk I'm only concerned with the question regarding the anti virus program! Thank you

The program is called Norton 360, if that is relevant

You could have saved yourself that. The Windows Defender, which is included with Windows for free, is now completely sufficient. And he does not constantly report that he has found something, but simply does it. The way it has to be. These messages from your Norton are more used to show you how awesome he is.

I think 24.99 for a year shouldn't drive me into financial ruin

I believe you about that. But you could have thrown the money directly out of the window. Would have the same effect in the end.

Haha yes knows what you're getting at, well there are worse.

There's never 100 percent security. I don't know Norton 360, I can't judge. But if you want a little more security, you could use a NoScript browser addon or do it all in a virtual machine.

Incidentally, there's generally less malware for Linux than for Windows. If you like Linux ^^

Even if the Windows Defender is now good, I have been relying on an antivirus program for years.

But since all programs do almost the same thing these days, antivirus these days is all about performance and how it affects your system.

I used to have Norton, but I didn't like it anymore. Norton got too involved in the performance of my computer and slowed it down here and there.

I have been using ESET Antivirus continuously for 6 years.

As with Windows Defender, you don't even feel that you have an antivirus.
