Probably virus. Laptop does not start anymore?
I have a relatively new laptop. The day before yesterday my McAfee virus protection expired, was such a free preinstalled trial. Am then the request paid to extend not followed up. One day later I caught a virus, even though I was not online or surfing at all.
The screen is suddenly frozen and it came a message I should enter my password because otherwise my hard drive would be formatted. Have the laptop then just restarted and wanted to check the security of the app "Windows Defender" my laptop. This required a reboot.
When restarting the laptop then hung up, as in the picture. All keyboard shortcuts bring no change, it just does not work! When I turn the laptop off / on again only this picture and nothing else.
What can I try to get back into Windows and install anti-virus protection?

Try to start in safe mode, you can reach it via any key combination when booting. That brings you perhaps so far that you then McAffee (in my opinion, the actual source of error) can uninstall and at least do something with the device again, so go for troubleshooting, etc. Windows Defender is the way, because of the regular and many updates much better, more reliable and less stressful than some external virus scanner.
It could be a virus. Some viruses prevent access to the desktop. I had the same problem 3-4 years ago. I recommend you to make the laptop a professional who is generally familiar with computer techniques. A professional can access the desktop because they have special connection devices that you as a private person can't have. After the review, I would recommend trozdem no repair. Better buy a new laptop.
