Charging cable sparks when plugged into the laptop?

As already described, my charging cable sparkles when plugged into the laptop. It is also a 50/50 chance whether it really loads or not. My laptop and the charging cable are not that old yet, 1 1/2 years. How dangerous is that? Also, I don't find a corresponding charging cable, but I don't know much about it either. I have an MSI laptop, GP62 MVR 7RF Leopard Pro. I have already looked at Amazon, but did not really find anything, but if someone could send me a link that would fit, that would be great, if there's one at Amazon. What I saw is pretty expensive.

I haven't seen one on Amazon for less than 52 euro. That would be that:

(But is not an original).

Is that possible for GP62M? Because it is not listed there

Se

Yes, the list with the article also includes GP62MVR, according to your question you have a GP62MVR. Unfortunately I don't have the laptop, so I can't test it.

OK thanks.

With pleasure.

I think that should be the right one, but don't pin me down:

I would proceed differently: Read on the current power supply what the power supply has for output data. D.H. Voltage in volts and current in amps. Then look for it, the volts must be right, the amps must be the same or more, but in no case less.

Sounds like a broken cable. You will not immediately destroy loose contact with your Notbok, but it is still unhealthy if the cable sparks excessively, which can pose a fire hazard.

Replace the power supply and the entire cable and try again. If it sparks briefly, it is not that bad, especially the socket on the side, something like that happens, especially if one end is in the notebook and the power supply is loaded at the same time.
