Ebay classifieds fraud around 500 euro?

A few days ago my friend bought a notebook on Ebay for 500 euro (via online banking), it all seemed very serious. The seller answered quickly and said that she would send the package on Saturday (09.05). Sunday suddenly the shock, the ad was back in and the seller didn't really answer. He then wrote to her and she said that it was a mistake and her son accidentally put it in there.
Since this seemed strange to me, I also wrote her via my account and wanted an offer, whereupon she suggested a price and said that she would send it off tomorrow morning.
Since then she has not answered my boyfriend correctly, but to every message I write to her.
By not reporting, he now threatened to go to the police, and there was still no response (she continued to write and answer my "questions")

What do you think about the next steps? Do you think he'll get his money back? Or was it really just a stupid misunderstanding? Are we doing right?

Report Ebay and specifically address it and point out that you will file a complaint if it does not now pronto ensure that the laptop comes or the money.

Set an ultimatum to send the laptop within a day, otherwise you are good at the police. And then go to the police too - no excuses, no excuses or anything else.

What does anonymous mean? The police can identify the seller via the ip address.

She can find out the IP address. Whoever used them can't find out.
