Boot selection (F12) at every start?

Have a laptop in which I have a new SSD installed (WIN10 PRO).

In the CD compartment is a 2.te normal hard disk which was previously the first hard drive on which WIN7 / WIN10 and Linux Mint are installed.

In the past, I had a hard drive 1 WIN7 / WIN10 / Linux Mint as a selection and when I needed it, I had installed on the hard drive of the CD drive MSD0 6.22 and was able to choose the start order with F12 at each startup.

Now in the current situation, I have to WIN7 / Linux to start, always first WIN 10 and boot there under Settings / Restore / "Restart Now" the system reboot. Then I have the choice again with F2 boot or F12 disk selection. After the next start of WIN 10 I do not have this selection anymore.

But would like to immediately have this selection again without reinstalling everything.

You have to stop in the bios.

Depending on what you have there, there should be settings there, like

"Fast Boot"> set this to Disabled

or something like "How long to start bios start picture"> Make sure to activate and depending on how much choice you have on a few seconds

Also in the boot menu you can also set some bios if this question, which you enforce with F12, should always be displayed.

Every bios is a bit different and you just have to read through it and try out a few settings, as long as you understand what's there!

In the BIOS I have Quiet Boot = Enable and F12 Boot Menu = Enable.

No other settings are possible in the BIOS here.

It remains that in the current settings I ALWAYS have to be in WIN10. There I can then under: START / DOWNLOAD / RESTART the system down and now when restarting I have again F2 and F12 available! The same applies to the way described above: "… Under Settings / Restore /" Restart Now… ".

If I start WIN10 and turn it off with "Shut Down", I will not have to re-enter WIN10 the next time I start (say, three hours later), since I do not have F2 and F12 to choose from. And that's not what I want. I would like to know that when I start my system, I can decide for myself what I want and not always ask WIN10 for the first time whether I can possibly boot my desired system.

Turn off the Quiet Boot, then the Bios Post will appear at system startup, where you always have to come with F12 in the selection.
