My laptop is in urgent need of repair as it sometimes just hangs or reboots. He then growls and I have to press the button. Have him brought to the store where I bought him and they have checked the CPU, but it was all right. Apparently it has something to do with the hardware but I really have no idea about it. Now I have to send him in for repair.
Can I just bring the laptop into the store with the charging cable and then fix it? On the website is something of a repair service but otherwise no info. How long is it going to take?
This can take a long time, with a Windows Surface I actually waited several months! For another laptop only 3-4 weeks, which is usually the normal waiting time. Give your laptop including accessories (charging cable, etc.) in its original state, so if you yourself, for example If you have a hard drive installed, build it out beforehand, at your service center or the store where you bought it, in the best case in the original box (if you do not have it anymore, this is not a problem!). They will then check the laptop there and tell you whether it is repaired, replaced or it is just no guarantee!
Luckily, it can use my mother's laptop when it's urgent. Thank you, will probably have to pack it in a laptop bag.
It is important to back up all your own files and downloads that you want to keep. Often the hard drive is simply formatted for privacy.
You can't say how long that lasts.
Please secure all important data before repairing probably a hard drive formatted.
