Destiny 2 on shotgun laptop?

I would like to play Destiny 2 on my laptop. The problem it is to put it in the words of my buddy a "junk" laptop so to name an example one of the few games that run smoothly is League of Legends so older games. But another friend claims that he can play Destiny 2 with a new SSD on his not so good laptop (19 - 30 fps) despite poor Wi-Fi is that possible? Are there any other ways to make the laptop "fit"? Or do I have to buy a better laptop / computer?

The ssd has very BZW. Nothing to do with the fps. It only shortens charging times.
