Has anyone successfully got a stuck hard drive running again?

My hard drive only emits a regularly repeated low beeping sound after being hit.

The data of a 3/4 year are now inaccessible to me. I don't want to cry, but that's a bitter blow. Does anyone have any experience they'd like to share with me? The hard drive is a Seagate from my laptop.

Ja

If the data is really important to you, have the hard drive read out by experts in a data recovery laboratory. But be warned: It starts at around 300 euro and the amount of data and effort involved determine the price.

You can't really do anything yourself. Hard drives are such fine mechanical parts that you can almost throw them away at the moment when you just open the case and contaminate data disks and internal mechanics with dust flying in the air. And even with a broken hard drive, you can't get a bent or jammed read head straight again without increasing the damage even further.

If the data is really important then go to the specialist with it and no longer infect it.

but also costs a penny.

if not then not.

If the hard drive no longer even reads the index where and which files are stored, it can be assumed that it is defective.

Due to the blow, the read / write head could have clawed onto the plate, which is now gradually scratching it (therefore no longer attach it)

I can't think of any alternative solution.

OP in a plastic bag? I don't have enough change.

Ja

As I said, the mechanics are steep enough and move in extremely sensitive areas, in which there's effectively no room for error. And if the read head has jammed, the chances are high that it also left damage to the data disks directly (distances of well below 1mm). They couldn't be repaired anyway and would have to be read out piece by piece with special tools and the content transferred.

Sorry but no, I would say that it is more likely to carry out a heart operation on the kitchen table than to rescue a hard drive that has been damaged by mechanical force. If there's a lack of change, there's no money for the hardware and programs for processing anyway.

I would pack the laptop because your OS is sure to be on it and without a disk it is useless anyway, you should then immediately put your saved data on it again and then get your computer ready. Then you can use it as usual when you pick it up.

The laptop has a new hard drive with an operating system. I thought maybe someone has had success with open-heart surgery and can encourage me to at least try…

Ar

I save sry important data in the real system on a backup and have them connected in a raid as a mirror.

Therefore this service has never been needed

Ca

No way to open it.
Such hard drives can be irreparably damaged by just a few grains of dust.

Go to an expert.

To be honest, I had that problem too. I was wearing an anti-static mat and gloves and opened the plate

De

And… Please, please write me about a success…

Of

Worked. At least I was able to save the data

An

Because of that, you make regular backups.

If the data is really that important to you, go to a reputable (!) Provider who can save the data. But it will be damn expensive.
