My laptop has run out of color before c.a 6 months ago. Can you still fix that or is it too long ago? If so, how much would that cost?

A white screen is shown when the backlight is there, but no image information. This can be a broken cable inside, or a software problem (possibly driver, as newcomer writes).
Try it, if you get a picture at the separate exit for a second screen. Then you know if it is on the graphics card or "only" on the screen.
Otherwise ask in a shop, or at a repair cafe.
I assume the display is cracked. In order to repair something, it is never too late in the sense of consequential damage or anything. It only raises the question of the availability of spare parts and the expense of repairing whether it still meets the market value of the device.
