I have a bad laptop right now and want to make it better and faster and have tried quite a bit.
Laptop CPUs are not made to be overclocked.
That won't work on a laptop. Overclocking is usually associated with a higher voltage and thus higher waste heat. The cooling capacities of laptops are very limited and the battery life suffers greatly as a result.
In addition, you need a suitable CPU, a suitable mainboard and the result is usually hardly worth it.
These requirements apply to very few laptops.
Do you already have an SSD and a clean operating system? This makes a laptop feel much faster. You can't avoid a new one for more performance in games.
The only thing that can help is to undervolten your CPU, i.e. To lower the number of volts of your CPU. This means that your laptop will no longer get so hot and will be quieter. And overclocking doesn't do anything with a laptop. You don't even notice the 300-500MHz more in gaming or surfing.
