Why does Microsoft Edge immediately delete all downloads?

I have a little problem with my new laptop. If I want to download a file in the Microsoft Edge Browser the following message appears at the bottom of the screen: The file.xyz contained a virus and was deleted. What setting can I make so that I can download files again?

Find "clean" files without a virus!

Be glad that you can't open the infected files from the internet! What's in it for you if your computer is virus contaminated?

They are clean virus-proofed files from a trusted website. And it does not matter which file I download to try, it will all be deleted.
