As with new laptops, you can only install Windows 10 on an old Intel Pentium processor laptop. Cortana is something we don't need, so this lady is on display. Nevertheless - if we switch on the laptop and use the CCleaner, it finds a lot of files (~ 260Kb) in Microsoft Edge (which we also don't use). In this laptop on C: \ Users \ User \ Appdata \ Local \ Packages \ Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_cw5n1h2txyewy \ Setting there's settings.dat with 64.0 KB, if you delete it you get the information: "The action can't be completed because the file is open in System.
Close the file and repeat the process ".
The problem is that every time the laptop is switched off / on, this file is restored ~ 75% of files in Cortana (which I can delete and delete).
My question to you: how can I open the "system" and end this process or take the file settings.dat out of the "opening"?
If you use Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise Edition, you can deactivate Cortana in the policy settings. To do this, open the gpedit tool. Msc and navigate to Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ Search. You can now make some settings on the right-hand side.
Cortana is disabled, but is still imposing on the Microsoft Edge. I had it exactly the same on my i7 laptop and solved it by deleting all Cortana files, for which I had to replace the owner of Cortana (trusted installer) with my little bit. This settings.dat was not available, all data is gone and the CCleaner is quiet while Edge is just lingering.
It would be nice if someone could answer my question - within the past 2 months I have been doing almost nothing other than having different people install Windows 10 Pro systems in my laptops.
