To all software experts: (I try to explain everything exactly)
I bought Steam Grand Theft Auto 4 and installed it on my laptop.
Laptop:
Lenovo ThinkPad E560
Windows 10 home
Graphics card: AMD Radeon R7 M370
Intel Core i7 6500 2.5GHz Quad Core
Unfortunately, the game hangs on startup (infinitely long) in the loading screen. You just hear a sequence of intro music in the background and then off. Black image…
Details, which I noticed:
I was NOT prompted to ACTIVATE the PRODUCT KEY during installation / first startup.
NO ROCKSTAR SOCIAL CLUB was installed when installing.
In Task Manager, the program / process in STATUS is displayed as INACTIVE
Measures I've already tried:
Creation of the necessary accounts for the online functions (Social Club registered online, Games for Windows Live Account linked to Social Club, XBox Account.)
Removed Paul.dll file in the program folder.
Games for Windows Live reinstalled several times
xlive.dll replaced more often
launchGTAIV.exe runs as administrator.
Compatibility set to Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)
Shortcut extended from the .exe with "-norestriction -availablevidmem 512 -percentvidmem100%" in the target.
2 times reinstalled.
manual, parallel login to the XBox network and social club on startup.
My guess:
Still compatibility issues?
Graphics card overwhelmed?
Product key Activation blocks the start?
Unfortunately, I did not really get on with the problem.
So installing GTA 4 on PC is really difficult as a DVD Rom because I have tried it several times and you always fail in the game only the club is installed and therefore can only say Gta 4 on PC very hard to install therefore I give it up and worried on console and there I play it and what the fault lies can't say
I have it without DVD-ROM
