I just bought a new Lenovo Ideapad 5 and wanted to use my regular headphones that I used for my cell phone and old laptop. However, I immediately noticed that the headphones didn't quite fit into the port. With a little research, I found out that it is a 3.5mm microphone / headphone combo port. I guess I have to buy new headphones or an adapter to use my normal headphones. But then here comes my question. What headphones or adapters do I need to get?

The connection is a completely normal connection. Any 3.5mm headphones fit in there. In addition, you can also connect 4-pin headsets… Have one on my laptop at work as well as privately… The driver may automatically recognize what has been connected, or you are asked what you have just connected…

The ideapad has 2 x 3.5mm connectors?

Such a https://www.amazon.de/...0727NBHBV/ or a headset with USB or 2 x 3.5 jack

Indeed? So with me the handle still protrudes a bit. Even if I try a little harder, it doesn't go all the way into the can and the laptop doesn't recognize anything either…

It's new, it can be very difficult… But the combination connections don't need special plugs. Both normal 3.5mm headphones and a 4-pin headset fit in there… I also have experience and use normal headphones on the combo connection every day… But I already had headsets on… A window pops up for me and asks what I connected. My Lenovo Thinkpad at work doesn't ask at all. It just works… ^^

Mine only has a 3.5 port

Many Thanks! It was actually because it was new and you just had to push it in a little harder. Sometimes the problems are much smaller than they seem.

Then the same from the cell phone should also fit… 4 pol. Pawl…

With new devices, do you usually have to press in with gentle force the first few times…

Jo worked.
