Laptop for gaming?

Have a lenovo thinkpad. Got an oculus quest 2 and wanted to play half life alyx on it. However, I don't know if my laptop can do that. How can I improve it? External graphics card? Or is it not worth it. I really have no idea

A maximum of games like Valorant or CSGO could work, an external graphics card wouldn't bring you anything because then your CPU would slow down the GPU and would not give you any performance boost.
