I have a really urgent question:
I have Xubuntu 16.04. Installed on my laptop, and once I connected it to the TV with an HDMI cable, recording with my microphone stopped working. Neither when I use the internal microphone, nor when I connect my headset. In the settings I also find nothing for the sound or the recording.
Can someone help me there?
The audio recording was probably switched to HDMI. Look in the pulseaudio settings: pavucontrol. Select the correct one under "Input devices" or even switch off the HDMI input completely under "Configuration".
The connection of an hdmi cable can in no way be related to the sound reproduction.
Sometimes there's a random coincidence of events that have nothing to do with each other.
