Sticky residues in socket, FI triggered?

My partner has just plugged the power adapter from the notebook into the socket and the FI has triggered.

When I looked into the can afterwards, the following picture appeared:

It was pretty sticky but went away easily.

Screwed everything on, nothing to see in the back, cables look good, nothing suspicious.

I know a lot about electrical engineering and was also a few years on the job, but I have never seen anything like it.

The plug was 100% clean, the socket is in the corner and there's nothing you can do about it.

Does anyone have a theory?

Possibly. An insect that stupidly sat there and got the short one?

It may be that something has come inside and caused a current to flow between the earth and the phase. Take a look at the lid and see what is underneath, there's usually the cause
