I installed an alienware 17r4 with a i7 7820hk 4ghz and a gtx 1080
the problem is that the cpu always clocked down after a while while playing at 801 mhz although the cpu temp is below 93 degrees.
What can this be?
Due to heat problems, laptop had a complete repaste with LM paste and new thermal pads
It can be next to the place where the temperature sensor is, more hotspots in the CPU that lead to choking.
Undervolte the CPU, underclock or limit the FPS to 60. Also, improve cooling by using a laptop cooler or at least some distance between the desk and laptop base, e.g. Raise the back with a book.
Hffe have removed the dust layer between fan and heat sink during the repaste.
