Devices won't connect to Wi-Fi no matter what I do. What now?

For me, the Wi-Fi has always been a bit crazy, but today something really peaked. No device wants to connect, or only my sibling's cell phone. The LAN cable still works and provides a connection, but the other devices in my family (2x laptops, cell phones, tablets) do not want to connect and of course I did not try to connect them all at the same time but tried separately to test whether it works. I've already turned the Wi-Fi off and back on several times, restarted my phone, and removed and added the network again. Oh, and of course I've already restarted the router. Nothing worked. Maybe you can help me?

Kind regards and hoping for help

lo

What do you have for a router?

sounds in my opinion Right after that, as if there were a macaddress filter table that only allows the registration of known devices.

We have a Fritz box. In fact, I've already read about these Mac addresses, but I didn't really understand how to set something there or something

Somewhere in the Wi-Fi settings you have a tick "allow new Wi-Fi devices" or something like that. That has to be done depending on what exactly is there.

Ha

Well, with something like that you buy a new device after a while or complain to the provider. Every Fritzbox can break, all devices can do that. Which model is it exactly? And does it hang directly on the telephone socket or antenna socket? Which FritzOS version is installed on it?

I would make completely new settings as far as the WLAN is concerned: connect to the configuration interface via a LAN connection, assign new SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and also new WLAN passwords. And deactivate the guest WLAN first. Then I would use a device, e.g. Connect one of the laptops to the Fritzbox's WLAN, ideally in the room where the Fritzbox is located. Then start a YouTube video and let it run.

Then the next device, e.g. Put the tablet into the new Wi-Fi and run a little YouTube. And then on to the other devices.

Okay thank you very much

In fact, I just solved the problem by unplugging the power cord, waiting, and then plugging it back in. XD (I could have come up with that earlier)

I'll try your tip next time, in case the power cable doesn't work either (I hope I don't have any more problems)

Still thank you for your help.

Gr

Thank you for your help and for the long text. The problem was solved very simply by pulling out and plugging in the power cable… I'm actually sorry that you wrote such a long text. I will use your tips in case I have problems again and even the power cord doesn't work, which of course I don't hope for

Ha

All right, you're welcome, I'm practicing ten-finger writing, and if the texts are longer, that's good exercise.

I think that if the so-called AEG repair (unplug, plug in, work again) has paid off, the problem will not have been there.
