Hardware: Laptop Z-Book in docking station, connected to the switch via Ethernet. So far everything is good. Worked without problems for> 3 years.
All of a sudden (exact time not known), the LAN socket of the docking no longer has a connect. ("no ethernet cable connected"). Only WLAN possible. No connect. Means: no physical link - LEDs on the network port do not light up. Not at all.
I've tried this so far:
Network cable connected to another laptop: works
Laptop undocked and network cable connected directly: works
Cable exchanged: still no connect
Docking station replaced: still no Connect
New hard drive in, Windows reinstalled from scratch: still no Connect
BIOS level: BIOS online update with docking station: does not work, no connect ("please connect a network cable")
BIOS level: BIOS online update without docking: works immediately
BIOS level: BIOS downgrade carried out (there's no newer BIOS) and then docked: still no Connect
Switch changed: still no connect.
Network card is recognized properly. There's no error message about the card in the Windows syslog. Just that she has no physical connection.
I'm completely at a loss. I claim to have swapped everything that goes. What could I have missed?
I'm not a network expert, but - is there a setting in the book / or BIOS that enables network access to the docking station in terms of hardware?

As soon as you dock in, the network card is physically like the laptop's network card. The docking has no intelligence of its own here.
Then I would tap a pin error in the laptop. As it sounds, there's no contact when inserting it into the docking station.
