Can I have something repaired in the Apple Store without a repair appointment?

I have already checked the support app to see if I can make an appointment in an Apple store near me, but every single Apple store says "No appointments are currently available" - this has been the case for several weeks now.

My father said to me when he bought something from the Apple Store a few days ago that there are repairers in the Apple Store who would repair my laptop without an appointment. My father doesn't speak German very well and I have concerns that he misunderstood something, because you should always make an appointment.

My MacBook Pro (2017) is not working at all or has problems with it and it is really urgent because I need my laptop for school. I have to work on several projects that are graded and I really want to get a good grade! Do you think it's okay if I go to the Apple Store without an appointment? Can you still repair my laptop, even without an appointment? If not, is there any other quick way to help me?

Unfortunately, you need an appointment for legal reasons, you can't do without it. And Apple Support can't give you appointments other than those you see in the app.

However, what you can do is: Complete the repair directly by phone with Apple Support. There's the so-called "mail-in" process, it is available for all other devices, MacBooks are always looked at, not all.

Your device will either be picked up the next working day or you will receive a box with instructions on how to send it.

Conclusion: You don't need to go to the Apple Store.
