An unsuccessful repair from the computer. Reimbursement?

I recently had a problem with my laptop and decided to have it repaired. I live in Berlin and since it is an old model, I have of course no guarantee on the device more, and have in an electronics repair service not far from my house.

The friendly technician immediately noticed that it is a known problem and that the GPU chip needs a reflow. There were no parts replaced but left the old GPU chip repaired. That cost me 130 euro. Now the device is running like new, but in two weeks it was dead - was suddenly turned off and did not turn on.

On my next visit I was told that the chip does not seem to be repairable anymore and that it has to replace the whole logic board. The Logicboard costs about 250 euro and still has to be ordered.

Now I'm in the situation that I have a dead laptop but spent 130 euro for the repair. I've been trying to get my money back because the repairs have a 3-month warranty and the technician himself mentioned that he had failed to repair the chip, but he had done the work and unfortunately can't help but me to replace the logic board.

On my suggestion that I only pay 50 euro for the diagnostics, but get the rest - 80 euro back, because the repair is malfunctioning and the device is not working anymore, was not accepted.

Is that right?

So I would not have done the first repair with such an old model.

And another 250 euro already not at all.

Buy a new laptop of good quality, or even a used one, and throw the old part on the trash.

Are there any of these terms and conditions? What is in the terms and conditions applies. So if there's a 3-month grant this will apply.

My advice, however: rather buy a new notebook directly before you fix the thing again. Hope there are not too important data on it.

If they give you a warranty on the repaired part and the same mistake occurs again, they would need to repair it for you free of charge, if possible.

If the laptop is so old, then a repair from 50 euro upwards is not really worthwhile.

The data can be saved… Take out the disk and connect it to the new laptop via USB. There are such boxes in which you can do internal plates, which can then be used via USB.

Thanks, I know that now too.

This is just such an example… Of course there are others: https://www.amazon.de/...B003VL357U

Thanks for the answer. I now need a new device is clear to me, but I would have wanted to know if I can count on a reimbursement. As I said probably not all 130 euro, because a job was done but on a part of it, because as a result, the device is dead.

I have not found that in terms and conditions. That's why I would like to know how to regulate the law.
