Macbook Pro suddenly slowed down a lot?

Since the day before yesterday my laptop suddenly slowed down a lot. Pages and programs open with a significant delay, every time I restart I'm logged off from almost all Internet pages, although all my data is stored / automatic login is activated, and the frame rate for games has dropped from normally 20 to 3fps. It all happened overnight. I haven't made any changes to the device or its settings. What could it be?

About the device: it is a MacBook Pro 13 "from the beginning of 2011

Is it also about programs that only run locally on the computer?

Or are these all things related to network activities?

Da

It is also about normal programs

Me

OK, then can we rule out a slow network connection?

Have you ever checked the activity display to see what programs are running and whether there are any that need a lot of resources? (High CPU load or something)?

Da

There are no other programs running. I usually only have one open at a time, a maximum of two. This often only refers to the Finder or Mails and a browser

Me

Yes OK. These are the applications you have started.

But check the list of processes that are still running on the computer in the activity display (this is a separate program supplied with every Mac that shows all running processes, their CPU load, etc.).

On the other hand: If you don't know what I'm talking about, then it probably doesn't help if you look into it.

Da

Well, I can't read a lot from it. I really don't know anything about all that stuff either. The CPU usage looks okay, at least that's what I would conclude. On average, around 60-80% are inactive.

Me

Somebody would have to look at it who is familiar with it. Whether he sees a strange process there that doesn't listen or uses an unusually large amount of resources (CPU load, I / O, …).
