I have the Der Pate DVD collection from 2001 (with the old voice actors). I would like to drag the 3 parts onto my cell phone, via the PC. I would also buy them otherwise, but I'm afraid that the films with the new voice actors are on iTunes.
Now my question is whether it is somehow possible to drag the DVD onto my laptop as a file and then drag it onto my iphone as a normal video format? After all, the DVD is quite old (2001). Are there any uncomplicated options? Unfortunately I don't have much experience with something like that.
The simplest thing would be to convert the DVD to MP4 and then drag the films onto your cell phone.
Freemake Video Converter should do that easily.

Simply in my opinion YES, but whether this happens so quickly depends on the PC. Mine has 3.5 Ghz & 8 GB Ram, so converting is relatively quick.
What do you think how much memory a 3 hour video needs?
I believe that HD can be a few GB.
