Magnetic fields in cell phones and laptops?

During the online class I noticed that my cell phone (iphone 12) reacts magnetically to my laptop. My parents said that would be harmful because the magnetic fields could destroy something in the cell phone or laptop. Is that correct?

How do you know?

Correct, electromagnetic currents can divert at least the memory, but mostly entire electrical currents and thus trigger miscalculations in the circuit. You have to find out for yourself who influences whom…

I put my cell phone on my laptop and noticed that it was magnetically attracted, you can feel that when you pick up the cell phone again

My Mate 20 Pro and my friend's P30 Pro are also slightly magnetic on the front camera.

Seems to come from the NFC reader or the wireless charger.

It only becomes harmful if the magnet is too strong.

But you can tell. After all, new tablets also have a magnetic device for the pens.

Fr

So has it been harmful to cell phones and laptops?

The iPhone 12 has installed magnets because of MagSafe. It doesn't harm the iPhone.

You shouldn't bring them near an HDD if your laptop still has one.

Thanks

Hdd?

All laptops have magnets to close the "flap". So to close it.

Your iPhone 12 is magnetic because of MagSafe. Basically your parents are also right, but this is increasingly used with credit cards or the like.

It's a hard drive. The data is stored on magnetic disks.
