I travel next week for a year (train). Would like to take all my data. How sensitive is such a hard drive (HDD)? Does she survive a normal train ride if I handle my luggage with care?
I think so - she finally came with the post office and a laptop with a hard disk you take with you. I just love to be overcautious 🤷 Maybe you have other experiences. One or the other jerk she has to join since then change at 3x.
You can also pull them on buckets behind you that does not itch as long as it is not running.
Normally yes, such hard drives are finally built to take them with you. If you still have concerns, you can pack them in bubble wrap for safety. That's not really necessary though.
Just pack them in your hand luggage.
