I have an off X555LA notebook, and the colors are pale. For example, Red is not so good (see the picture).

Yes, try the colors on the NVIDIA control panel to control (if you have a NVIDIA graphics card installed). Just right click on the desktop and select that. Then click around where the colors can be adjusted.

You can calibrate the colors and try different color profiles. Personally, I like DCI-P3 the most.
