Do you think you can make a mistake when changing the thermal paste?
I've done more in my notebook (RAm Upgraded)
But my question is do you think I can do something wrong when changing the thermal paste?
Do you have any tips for me to avoid errors?
Yes, namely taking too much or too little.
And how can you find the optimal amount
Here is a video 👉
The simplest (not the best) is a small dot as big as a pea, maybe a little more.
With elapse you can apply more, but that's not so "easy" or quick.
Only if you apply it too thick.
But even that is not a broken leg.
WLP is applied thinly.
The trick is to apply a pea-sized dab of thermal compound in the middle of the cleaned cpu
If you don't use metallic thermal paste, you can't go wrong. With screwed CPU coolers it is not bad if you take too much, the result is just a huge mess but nothing that harms the PC.
Here you can see the construction of a processor. In the middle is the actual computing chip "DIE". Only this generates the heat.
Accordingly, you can simply make a pea-sized blob in the middle and then mount the CPU cooler on it, it is not so bad if the corners of the CPU do not have thermal paste, since the heat is only generated centrally in the middle, so the largest transfer there takes place.
